"Trump will go down as the funniest president in American history."
The unfiltered interview released on Wednesday and published to X, formerly Twitter, covered a wide range of topics, including politics, the Biden administration, and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, whom the comedian host asked if was Trump's "favorite African American."
Bursting out in laughter, President Trump responded by saying that Musk "loves our country and he's picked a side. A lot of people don't want to pick a side. I have a lot of people who are big supporters of me, but they won't go all out. They're scared, there is a cost. But there is also a liability."
"This guy was up there doing jumping jacks, saying you've got to vote for Trump!" the president said about Musk, referring to his recent campaign rally in Butler, PA where the billionaire tech giant joined him on stage. "He was jumping high! He's in good shape!"
While the 45th president took a few jabs at President Biden, he commended his 2020 opponent for being able to accomplish something Trump said he could not do: sleep.
"He has one ability I don't have. He sleeps. He can sleep!" said Trump. "This guy goes on a beach, he lays down on one of those 6 oz chairs, and he can't lift it...Somebody convinced him he looked good in a bathing suit. When you're 82, typically bathing suits don't make you look great."
Trump's remarks garnered him praise, with supporters saying he "will go down as the funniest president in American history." Another X user described the podcast episode as "sharp humor meets political fireworks."
