All across the US, police officers have met those angered by the tragic death of George Floyd to communicate that both parties are in agreement that things need to change in law enforcement.

Rudy Giuliani, who is a staunch defender of law enforcement, condemned the killing of George Floyd by saying that it would not have happened in his city. He went on to say in a Fox News interview that there should have been a high-ranking officer at the scene where George Floyd was arrested to ensure there was nothing wrongful about the officer's handling of the case, and there was not.

Giuliani said: "Nobody disagrees that what happened to Mr. Floyd was an outrage."

But there have been members of law enforcement who have owned up to the fact that some police officers have acted unlawfully in the past.

Miami police officers took a knee in a moment of respect for those who have died at the hands of unjust officers, with a couple officers themselves holding up a sign that read "End Police Brutality."

In the end, they hugged it out.

A similar thing happened in Flint, Michigan, where Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said that the police officer had put the "helmets and batons" away. He added that he did not want to make this protest, but a parade, where the police officers were going to join in.

A police officer took a knee at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, drawing swarms of protesters who decided to do the same. Afterward, protesters can be heard chanting "Thank you" as phones flash and record the moment.

Even in Portland, where much of the antifa riots have happened in the past, witnessed a hopeful moment as police officers in riot gear took a knee as protesters high-fived them and shook their hand.

And in Des Moines, Iowa, protesters asked the police to kneel with them in solidarity. The policeman did for a full two minutes, according to CBS News.

Though these moments of peaceful protesting have been overshadowed by violent riots over the past several days, there is still hope that both peaceful protesters and police can work together to initiate reform within law enforcement.
