Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene brings legislation to prohibit funding the Palestinian Authority

House Resolution 2445, also known as the No Funding For Terrorists Act, would look to stop "all financing to those who commit acts of violence against United States and Israeli citizens."

Amidst the current backlash against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for comments against COVID restrictions that many slammed for being antisemitic, she called for GOP backing of a bill that would look to defund the terrorist organization Hamas.

"The woke media is attacking me for being outspoken against vax discrimination & smearing me as antisemitic to cover the truth that the #JihadSquad openly supports Hamas terrorists," wrote Greene on Twitter. "I wonder if GOP leadership would cosponsor my bill to defund terrorists?"

House Resolution 2445, also known as the No Funding For Terrorists Act, would look to stop "all financing to those who commit acts of violence against United States and Israeli citizens."

It would also "prevent future payments like the $235,000,000 payout to the Palestinian Authority just authorized by the Biden administration," according to a press release from Greene's office.

Greene was slammed earlier this week for making an antisemitic comment comparing pandemic restrictions to the early years of Nazi Germany. Greene has stood by her remarks as not antisemitic, but in opposition to fascism and government overreach.

"You know, we can look back at a time in history when people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second-class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany. And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about," Greene said on Friday.

In a tweet Tuesday, Greene doubled down on the statement, adding "vaccinated employees get a vaccinated logo just like the Nazi's forced Jewish people to wear a gold star," referring to a local news article talking about a grocery store that would require employees to display a vaccinated logo on their name badge.

The same day, Greene posted that "it appears Nazi practices have already begun on our youth. Show your VAX papers or no in person class for you. This is exactly what I was saying about the gold star. This is disgusting!"

Greene slammed the Squad's support of a Palestinian state and Hamas terrorism in a series of tweets Wednesday, saying "does the Squad get a pass because they are Democrats?"

"I'm one on the most pro Israel members, outspoken against the Squads support of Hamas terrorism w/ a bill to fight it & I've called out the Squad's rhetoric sparking recent violence on American Jews, but comparing discriminator practices against unvaxxed people to the early awful discriminatory practices of showing papers to completely causes you and the left leaning media to tear me to pieces? None of my pro Israel support matters at all to you?" asked Greene. Is it bc I'm Republican?"

"Does the Squad get a pass bc they are Democrats? Greene continued. "Even though they are openly hating Israel and stoking the flames of antisemitism."

Anderson Cooper asked Rep. David Cicilline Tuesday night about the comments made by Omar, to which he replied that there was no evidence of anti-semitism in the Democratic Party.

"Are you concerned about any Democrats and their own issues or past comments like Congresswoman Ilhan Omar from Minnesota playing on anti-Semitic trope?" asked Cooper.

"Look, I think Congresswoman Omar apologized for that almost immediately," replied Cicilline. "But you know, I see no evidence whatsoever in the Democratic Caucus or in the Democratic Party of anti-Semitism at all.

"In fact, the strongest voices that have condemned acts of antisemitism and this rise in antisemitic violence have been members of the Democratic Caucus, but everyone should be condemning it," he continued.

In recent weeks, the Squad has tweeted about Israel committing acts of terrorism and human rights violations.

"Israeli air strikes killing civilians in Gaza is an act of terrorism," wrote Rep. Ilhan Omar.

"American taxpayer money is being used to commit human rights violations. Congress must condition the aid we send to Israel, and end it altogether if those conditions are not followed. Statements aren't working @SecBlinken. Enough is enough," said rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke on the conflict in Israel, saying "It's [the ceasefire] an important development but it’s not enough because it does not address the actual ongoing dehumanizing conditions that are leading or rather contributing to the outbreak of violence."
