52 House Republicans warned President Biden of a brewing "crisis" of illegal migration on Tuesday, saying the situation could become "catastrophic overnight." In a letter obtained by Fox News, the lawmakers juxtaposed the current surge in numbers at the southern border with recent Biden announcements to limit border security.

The letter calls on Biden to instruct Secretary Mayorkas to provide briefings to all members of the US house on the crisis: "Mr. President, the fundamental responsibility of the federal government is to protect America, not to ignore the law and to actively encourage, incentivize, and facilitate illegal migration in ways that empower cartels and endanger both American citizens and migrants wrongly being encouraged to succumb to the perilous journey."

The Republicans continue to worry about the change in border policies from Biden and the effects his executive orders may have on public safety and the economy.

Biden has halted border wall construction, strengthened protections for recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, proposed a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants and proposed a 100-day halt on deportations.
