Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) tweeted on Sunday his perennial opinion on how the US should stop sending military aid to Israel, including aid that could fund their Iron Dome anti-missile defense system.

"The devastation in Gaza is unconscionable. We must urge an immediate ceasefire. The killing of Palestinians and Israelis must end. We must also take a hard look at nearly $4 billion a year in military aid to Israel. It is illegal for US aid to support human rights violations."

Sanders in Oct. of the year 2019 had also previously proposed holding military aid from the US over Israel's head as a sort of bribe to try and force Israel to change its policies, according to Fox News.

"My solution is to say to Israel: 'You get $3.8 billion every year. If you want military aid, you’re going to have to fundamentally change your relationship to the people of Gaza.' In fact, I think it is fair to say that some of that should go right now into humanitarian aid."

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has also taken an openly anti-Israel stance, implying that  Iron Dome itself an "act of terrorism".

Violent conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas terrorists has now gone on for a week solid, with thousands of Hamas rockets fired at civilian targets in central and south Israel, many of which were intercepted by the very same Iron Dome system.
