The Seattle Police Department made multiple arrests on Saturday in response to the one-year-anniversary of riots and uprisings in Seattle, an event hosted by far-left groups including Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

Two marches were planned around the same time in different areas of downtown Seattle, one at Westlake and another at Occidental Park.

The two groups marched militantly through the downtown corridor of Seattle around 3pm, chanting "Defund SPD" among other anti-police obscenities.

Seattle PD’s CRG Taskforce immediately trailed both marches on bikes and in police vehicles, applying pressure on the notoriously violent group to keep the events peaceful.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the decision to trail the groups were made in response to the groups utilization of car brigades (vehicles that trail tightly behind the group preventing vehicles from passing through). Seattle PD informed the group that car brigades prevent emergency vehicles from passing through, causing detrimental safety issues.

SPD made it clear that they respect the first amendment rights of all protesters and trailing the march does not prohibit the groups constitutional rights.

The two groups ended up merging together outside Seattle City Hall, gaining strength in numbers.

Once the two groups combined, members of the group became emboldened and assaulted a street preacher.

The assault on the street preacher began a series of targeted arrests from the Seattle Police Department.

Seattle PD attempted to arrest the suspect that committed the assault but individuals amongst the group blocked officers from carrying out their duties. As a result, those who blocked the officers from arresting the suspect were arrested for obstruction of Justice.

After the scene was cleared, the group continued to march through downtown.

The crowd of anti-police protesters cheered as an orchestrated gang of motorcyclists rolled through the march. During this time, another individual was arrested for carrying an unlawful weapon.

Seattle PD disbanded from the march when the group hit 3rd Ave, an exceedingly dangerous Avenue in Seattle that sits at the height of criminal activity in the city.

The group of far-left militants made their way back to Occidental Park and dispersed for the evening. According to the Seattle Police Department, four individuals were arrested on various different charges; including obstruction of justice and carrying an unlawful weapon.

This weekend marked the one-year-anniversary of civil unrest in the city in response to the death of George Floyd. Antifa and Black Lives Matter organized nightly violent riots which ultimately led to the creation of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ), when Seattle PD was forced to abandon the East Precinct.

After city officials were threatened by former President Donald J. Trump to put an end to the dangerous and lawless crime ridden zone after multiple homicides were reported, Seattle PD went in and dismantled CHAZ.

However, riots and civil unrest continued to plague the city for more than nine months following the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department.
