Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) on Thursday morning went on Fox News live from the Capitol to talk about the new bill being passed, dubbed the "coronavirus" bill. He's not a fan.
"I said the other day that calling this a coronavirus bill is like calling Harvey Weinstein a feminist. It's just chock full of spending porn."
"I don't understand why we have to give bucket-loads of money to prisoners, people who are in our country illegally, states whose revenue has gone up, and schools that refuse to open. Using a #coronavirus bill to smuggle through far-left pork is like looting after a hurricane," says the tweet.
The video segment in the tweet clocks in at just over three minutes in length, and the senator keeps busy firing off quips during the whole thing.
"President Biden says it's a coronavirus bill, and my response is: right, and the stripper really likes you"
"There are parts of [the bill] that I like. I like trying to help people who are unemployed, and I like trying to help our small businesspeople, especially our restaurants."
"I don't know why we have to pay reparations; this bill has a reparations provision."
"To me, using a coronavirus bill to effectuate spending porn is like looting after a natural disaster, and that's why I voted against it."
"We tried with President Biden. He said, 'Look, I'll meet you halfway.' We said 'OK,' and then he just ignored us. I mean, if he was meeting us halfway, he's a damn poor judge of distance."
When asked about elections coming up in a year and a half, and whether the orgy of spending is going to skew the vote for the Democrats, he said:
"No, because I don't think that the American people are morons."
The interviewer closes out the video clip by saying:
"It's unbelievable. You know, sometime you don't hear it and you could walk away, but this time, he stared right at the press and walked away."
