"If an illegal alien is expecting to give birth, gives birth, or has given birth to a child on US soil, then they should be deported and take their family with them, regardless of ill-gotten citizenship of that child," the Oversight Project said.
The "Keeping Families Together Plan: How to Deport after the Birthright Citizenship Case" calls on the Trump administration to take immediate action in deporting "the illegal alien parents of anchor babies."
"Simply put, if an illegal alien is expecting to give birth, gives birth, or has given birth to a child on US soil, then they should be deported and take their family with them, regardless of ill-gotten citizenship of that child," the Oversight Project said. "This prioritization will help President Trump achieve his signature campaign promise to conduct the largest deportation operation in American history."
The group explained that the Supreme Court's decision does not grant amnesty to illegal immigrants, even if their child was born on American soil. Therefore, ICE should be positioned at hospitals and birth tourism centers and prioritize "family-unit based enforcement," such as raiding areas known to have a high population of illegal immigrants, including worksites, the Oversight Project said. The objective is to target illegal immigrants who are presumably the primary providers for their families, making it nearly impossible for other family members to remain in the United States, potentially leading to the entire family being deported or choosing to be deported together.
"This would be a focus on quantity as opposed to the previous enforcement framework of focusing on 'worst of the worst' so-called criminal illegal aliens," the group said. "We should no longer wait for illegals to commit crimes before they are deported."
Additionally, the strategy includes using reconciliation to tax births by illegal immigrants and suspending visas for countries that engage in birth tourism.
"My country is more than a pile of magic dirt. While the Supreme Court may consider anchor babies of illegal aliens to be citizens, they are not my countrymen," said Mike Howell, President of the Oversight Project. "Citizenship means something more than jumping a border and having a baby while here illegally...Parents and would-be parents of anchor babies should be deported so that the families can remain together in their home country. This is the common-sense, safe, orderly, and humane way to respond to this crisis."
"America cannot be great when a communist billionaire in China can ship his sperm to women in California so that he can have American citizen children and then reap the benefits associated with that," he continued. "I wish I did not have to write that sentence, but our Supreme Court has given me no choice."
Shortly after the Supreme Court's decision, several Republican members of Congress introduced measures seeking to modify the Fourteenth Amendment's birthright citizenship section. Justice Kavanaugh suggested that Congress could pass an amendment, which could potentially overturn the ruling.
