Steak ’n Shake has announced it has started installing large American flags at all of its restaurants across the country as part of a new patriotic initiative.

In a social media post on Saturday, the company stated that every location will display the tallest and largest American flag that local governments allow to be displayed.

“Steak n Shake proudly supports American values and traditions,” the company said.

The Indianapolis-based burger chain operates restaurants in several states, including Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, Illinois, and Ohio. The company has previously positioned itself as embracing traditional American ideals.

Earlier this year, Steak ’n Shake criticized Cracker Barrel following its temporary rebranding effort, calling it a departure from the company’s heritage.

"Heritage is what got Cracker Barrel this far, and now the CEO wants to just scrape it all away," Steak 'n Shake said. "At Steak 'n Shake, we take pride in our history, our families, and American values. All are welcome. We will never market ourselves away from our past in a cheap effort to gain the approval of trend seekers."

Steak ’n Shake has also drawn praise from supporters of the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement for its decision to replace seed oils with beef tallow in its fryers. In March, the company posted an image of a red hat resembling a MAGA hat that read, “Make Frying Oil Tallow Again.”

At the time, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. applauded the move, saying, “We’re very grateful to them for RFK’ing the french fries.”
