"It's actually possible to be politically effective and decent. This is neither," Jennifer Horn said late last year about what the group had become.

In newly revealed legal filings, The Lincoln Project was shown to have quietly reached a six-figure legal settlement deal with the co-founder of the group after she accused the super PAC of ignoring sexual misconduct allegations against John Weaver.

"It's actually possible to be politically effective and decent. This is neither," said  former New Hampshire GOP chair Jennifer Horn last October when The Lincoln Project staged a photo-op in front of a Glenn Youngkin campaign bus.

Uncovered by The Washington Free Beacon on Wednesday, the discovery cites a set of campaign disclosures released by The Lincoln Project this week. Jennifer Horn received an initial payment of $250,000 on July 15, 2021, and monthly amounts of $25,000 since then.

Federal Election Commissioner records label the payments from The Lincoln Project to Ms. Horn as "legal payout[s]." But more beyond that is publicly unknown.

The overall controversy first began in February 2021 when Jen Horn stepped away from the Lincoln Project amid sexual harassment claims made against another co-founder, John Weaver. Weaver had allegedly made unwanted sexual advances toward more than 20 young men.

In an official response from the group's Twitter, The Lincoln Project accused Horn of making payment and role demands in her initial consulting contract with the organization. Someone from the Lincoln Project also tweeted out private DMs between Jennifer Horn and a journalist named Amanda Becker, who was writing a story about the Weaver allegations.

The campaign finance records also list a severance payment to their former press secretary Nathaniel Nesbitt, according to The Free Beacon. Another $130,310 payment was made to law firm Paul Hastings, which was hired to investigate  the group's handling of the Weaver allegations. In June, a report was released that cleared the group of wrongdoing.
