Three Humvees, seven machine gun tripods, and eight machine gun vehicle mounts were included in the supplies taken.
According to KIRO 7, between 8pm and 11:30pm on Wednesday night, suspects entered the warehouse at the Army reserve center. Locks were removed from multiple storage lockers and the equipment that was taken included: one armored Humvee Model M1151A1, two cloth-door Humvee Model M1097s, eight machine gun vehicle mounts, seven machine gun tripods, medical equipment and supplies, 40 binoculars, and 18 bayonets.
Aside from the equipment listed, the Army is not aware of anything else that was taken from the reserve center. The suspects reportedly cut through a fence to access the military parking lot where they were able to ride off with the Humvees at an unknown time.
As the wildfires have raged on in California, looters have tried to take advantage of the situation. At least 20 have been arrested for the crime, and there have been reports of dozens of people going around on electric scooters in order to rob houses in the LA area.
"It's always sad when I have to say this, but part of our responsibility is to make sure nobody loots or steals from our community members who are already being impacted," Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said in a briefing. "I'm sad to report, we've made two arrests this morning for looting already. So if you are thinking about coming into any of these areas to steal from our residents, I'm going to tell you something. You're going to be caught, you're going to be arrested, and you're going to be prosecuted."
