Three Texas counties are expected to declare a border emergency on Tuesday as they deal with the "unprecedented" migrant crisis at the US-Mexico border.

According to the New York Post, county leaders in Kinney County, Goliad County, and Uvalde County will make an "important announcement about forthcoming emergency declarations" on July 5 in the city of Brackettville which is about 30 miles north of the southern border.

The border crisis reached a tragic epoch on June 28 as 46 migrants were found dead inside an 18-wheeler in San Antonio. Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted afterward, "These deaths are on Biden. They are a result of his deadly open border policies."

Biden's border crisis has continually escalated since he took office with a record-breaking number of illegal immigrants crossing in May.

Between the first week of April and the second week of May, it was tallied that a half-million migrants crossed the border in an 8 week period.

The US Customs and Border Patrol statistics for May accounted for 239,416 encounters with migrants entering the country illegally and brings the total encounters for the year to over 1.7 million.

Val Verde County Commissioner Robert Nettleton said, "At the end of the day, the federal government is not doing its job and these local communities need to come up with a solution."

When Biden took office he put Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of fixing the border crisis. But Harris said that wasn't her job and instead she explained how her energies would go to dealing with migration root causes like climate change.

On June 30, SCOTUS ruled that the Biden administration does not have to abide by the "remain in Mexico" immigration policy that Trump had put into place, opening the window for even more migrants to cross this summer.
