The siblings, ages 14, 15, and 16, "allegedly coordinated a plan to try and kill" their 39-year-old mother, Gonzalez stated. After the Wi-Fi was shut off on Sunday night, the teens reportedly grabbed kitchen knives and began to chase their mother through their home and into the street in Houston.
During the attack, one of the girls threw a brick, striking their mother in the ankle. Their 70-year-old grandmother was also knocked over while trying to protect the woman.
Despite the violence, neither the mother nor the grandmother sustained serious injuries.
Harris County deputies and detectives responded to the incident on Sunday in the Barkers Crossing neighborhood. The three teenagers were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. They have been booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.
Nearby neighbors told FOX 26 that the family has a history of disturbances and police calls being made to the home.
"They’re known for that in this neighborhood. There’s always cops around that house," one anonymous neighbor said. "I think that’s so crazy. I mean it just tells how unstable that family is, and it’s very sad for them.”
“I don’t even let my kids come outside because of them,” another neighbor told the local NBC affiliate.
