A left-wing trans activist is part of a Super PAC that ran a voter suppression texting scam in Pennsylvania which falsely led voters to believe they had already voted in the current election.

The texts, originating from a group called "AllVote," claimed, “Records show you voted” and included a link to a Pennsylvania state voting information website. Election officials quickly flagged these messages as deceptive, labelling AllVote’s campaign as a scam.

The group’s spokesperson, Charlotte Clymer, issued an apology to The Pennsylvania Inquirer, describing the messages as a well-intended reminder that turned into a mistake.

“We are mortified by this mistake and the confusion it has caused,” the organization said. The statement further explained that AllVote intended to remind voters that they had cast ballots in the 2022 election, but a crucial “in 2022” phrase was omitted, resulting in confusion about whether recipients had voted in the current election.

“In the heat of the campaign season, workers working long hours simply made a copy-editing mistake,” the statement read. Voters received follow-up texts clarifying the error, though those who marked the initial message as spam or replied “STOP” may not have received the correction.

Back in August, officials in Montgomery County had warned that AllVote was falsely texting registered voters that they were not registered in an attempt to "capture personal, sensitive information from voters in an attempt to exploit them later on," the Pennsylvania Inquirer noted.

Clymer, an outspoken left-wing activist, has a history of high-profile incidents linked to activism and identity-related issues. Earlier this year, Clymer, a biological male identifying as transgender, participated in a "Women for Kamala" campaign event. This came after his tenure as a male feminist, before he transitioned to presenting as female. He was kicked out of the movement after being accused of being abusive towards women, journalist Andy Ngo noted.

Clymer has also been involved in a controversial incident in 2018, where he went after a small business after employees attempted to stop him from using the women’s bathroom because he is a man. Clymer got left-wing media, as well as DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and Chelsea Clinton, to go after Cuba Libre DC for the incident. The restaurant was eventually ordered to pay a fine after it was determined to have violated DC’s Human Rights Act by discriminating against Clymer’s transgender identity.

Additionally, Clymer received attention for a separate incident on social media, after bragging about getting a Lyft driver banned from the platform. According to Clymer, the driver was allegedly confused about the rider’s identity, likely due to edited photos on social media, and did not initially recognize Clymer as the expected passenger because he was expecting a woman. After airing the complaint online, Clymer reported that Lyft responded by permanently deactivating the driver’s account.
