"This is an opportunity for Independent Media to shine," Dichter said.

Organizers of the Freedom Convoy held a press conference Sunday, following GoFundMe's pulling of multi-million dollar funding for the protest, and GiveSendGo's stepping in to fill the void.

During the press conference, the organizers lauded independent media. "This is an opportunity for Independent Media to shine," said Benjamin Dichter in response to why the organizers won't allow legacy media in the press conferences.

"Go on the journey to usurp corporate media," the organizers implored independent media in attendance. Independent outlets in attendance include The Post Millennial, True North, Rebel News and more.

"The fringe minority if the Liberal Party of Canada," continued Dichter.

"We have the power to shut things down," said one organizer. "We brought the message to the government."

Some legacy media has been spreading misinformation regarding the convoy. Last week, CBC suggested Russian actors may be behind the movement.

"I do ask that because given Canada's support of Ukraine, in this current crisis with Russia, I don't know if it's far fetched to ask but there is concern that Russian actors could be continuing to fuel things, as this as this protest grows, but perhaps even instigating it from from the outset," CBC panelist Koksal said.

CBC was later forced to admit there is no evidence of Russian involvement in the convoy. According to Blacklock's Reporter, the CBC said in a statement that they should have consulted "experts' concerns" that the tensions in Ukraine and Moscow "could use its cyber and disinformation capabilities."
