The Trump campaign revealed on Tuesday that in the second quarter of fundraising, they raised a total of $331 million, raising $67 million more than the Biden campaign. The Trump campaign ended June with $284.9 million in cash on hand compared to Biden’s reported $240 million.
Trump campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a press release that the campaign’s second quarter fundraising beat that of the Biden campaign, which received $264 million. "After beating Biden in the months of April and May, the Trump team added another $111.8 million in June," they said.
"President Trump’s campaign fundraising operation is thriving day after day and month after month. Winning this quarter brought us a cash on hand advantage, which is punctuated by a Biden burn rate that grows while yielding no tangible results for them," the senior advisors said.
"Despite Biden spending nearly $120 million on tv, cable and radio alone, polling and voter enthusiasm continue to grow for President Trump. This fundraising momentum is likely to grow even more as we head into a world-class convention and see the Democrats continue their circular firing squad in the aftermath of Biden’s debate collapse."
Trump’s second-quarter fundraising total was driven in part by the surge in donations he received after being found guilty in the New York City falsified business records trial. The morning after the conviction, the Trump campaign announced that they received a record amount of small-dollar donations amounting to $34.8 million "nearly double the biggest day ever recorded for the Trump campaign on the WinRed platform." Notably, the donation page for Trump’s campaign temporarily went down on the Thursday evening after the verdict was delivered, with Dan Scavine, a senior advisor for Trump, revealing the crash was due to "the overwhelming amount of support out there, all across America."
In the 24 hours following the verdict, the campaign had raised a record-setting $52.8 million. Trump’s sentencing for the NYC trial has been delayed until September 18. It was originally set to take place on July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention where is set to be named the party’s nominee.
