President Donald Trump completed a follow-up medical evaluation this week, where he was determined to have a cardiac age of a 65-year-old.

The 79-year-old president underwent a comprehensive evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as part of his ongoing health maintenance plan. This included advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventive assessments conducted by a team of specialists. The president also received his annual influenza and COVID-19 booster vaccinations.

“President Trump continues to demonstrate excellent overall health,” White House physician Dr. Sean P. Barbabella wrote in a memo released Friday. “His cardiac age–a validated measure of cardiovascular vitality via ECG–was found to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age. He continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction.”

“President Donald J. Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance,” the memo concluded.

Speaking to reporters Thursday before the evaluation, Trump said, “Physically, I feel very good; mentally, I feel very good.” He added that he undergoes semi-annual visits as a precaution, saying, “I like to check. Always early. Always be early.”

The exam follows a July disclosure from the White House that Trump had been experiencing leg swelling and bruising on his right hand. Photos circulated online showing makeup covering a portion of his hand.

At the time, Barbabella said the leg swelling was caused by “chronic venous insufficiency,” a common and benign condition among older adults. He added that the bruising on Trump’s hand was consistent with soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and aspirin use, noting that the president takes aspirin as part of a “standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”
