A new poll has found that Donald Trump leads in the state of New Hampshire over Joe Biden by two points. The poll was conducted after the presidential debate on June 27, which has resulted in many, including Democrats, calling for Biden to step down from his reelection bid.

The Saint Anslem College poll found that of those aware of the Thursday night debate, 54 percent of New Hampshire voters believed that Trump won. The next-highest selected option was "neither" at 39 percent, with Biden taking in just 6 percent. The vast majority of voters, 81 percent, said the debate would not affect who they vote for.

In a six-way race including third-party and independent candidates, Trump led the field with 44 percent support, compared to Biden’s 42 percent. 76 percent of voters said they were committed to their vote.

Trump saw major support among voters under the age of 35 and swing voters, with 41 percent of voters under the age of 35 saying they would vote for Trump compared to 29 percent who said they would vote for Biden, and 39 percent of swing voters saying they would vote for Trump over 21 percent who said they would vote for Biden.

The poll was conducted between June 28 and 29 of 746 registered New Hampshire voters and has a margin of error of 2.3 percent.

Biden won the state in 2020 with 52.9 percent of the vote compared to Trump’s 45.5 percent. Of New Hampshire’s 10 counties, Biden won eight of them, with Trump winning the far-north Coos County and central New Hampshire’s Belknap County.

The poll comes as many, including Democrats, are calling for Biden to end his reelection bid after a dismal performance at the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle. Among those who called for Biden to leave the race was the New York Times’ editorial board, to which Biden campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond said, "The last time Joe Biden lost the New York Times editorial board’s endorsement it turned out pretty well for him." In the 2020 race, the outlet had endorsed Senators Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar.
