On Sunday, former President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that Anheuser-Busch, the parent company for beer brand Bud Light, "now understands" after the backlash concerning its partnership with trans-identified activist and social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney

"It’s time to beat the Radical Left at their own game," Trump said. "Money does talk—Anheuser-Busch now understands that. Great new Book by Wayne Allyn Root. Buy your copy today!"

The book Trump was promoting, The Great Patriot by Wayne Allyn Root, offers ways to "defund leftist woke companies" and provides a list of "great conservative companies to buy from and invest in."

In April, Mulvaney released a video promoting Bud Light and said the company sent the beer, marked with the influencer's visage, to commemorate Mulvaney's "365 Days of Girlhood" project.

After initial backlash, Anheuser-Busch defended the move and said the company "works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics and passion points. From time to time, we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public."

On April 14, Donald Trump Jr. backed the company and said, "We looked into the political giving and lobbying history of Anheuser-Busch. And guess what? They actually support Republicans."

Trump Jr. added, "Last cycle their employees and their PAC gave about 60 percent to Republicans and 40 percent to Democrats. That’s literally almost unheard of in corporate America, where it's really easy to go woke, where they do so constantly, where there's a consequence to actually being a conservative. So 60/40 to the conservative side is kind of a big deal."

Then the company lost billions after Bud Light drinkers boycotted the beverage leading to Anheuser-Busch firing the ad agency responsible for the Dylan Mulvaney partnership and releasing a new equine-themed ad

The New York Post reports that Trump created Truth Social, his own social media app, in October 2021, following his suspension from Twitter under that social media giant's former management.
