President Donald Trump said Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) should be primaried over the continuing resolution spending bill that is set to be voted on this week as the deadline for a government shutdown looms. Massie has said that he will vote in opposition to the spending bill backed by Trump and the majority of the GOP in the House.

Trump posted to Truth Social, "Thank you to the House Freedom Caucus for just delivering a big blow to the Radical Left Democrats and their desire to raise Taxes and SHUT OUR COUNTRY DOWN! They hate America and all it stands for. That’s why they allowed MILLIONS of Criminals to invade our Nation. Sometimes it takes great courage to do the right thing."

"Congressman Thomas Massie, of beautiful Kentucky, is an automatic “NO” vote on just about everything, despite the fact that he has always voted for Continuing Resolutions in the past. HE SHOULD BE PRIMARIED, and I will lead the charge against him. He’s just another GRANDSTANDER, who’s too much trouble, and not worth the fight. He reminds me of Liz Chaney before her historic, record breaking fall (loss!). The people of Kentucky won’t stand for it, just watch. DO I HAVE ANY TAKERS??? Anyway, thank you again to the House Freedom Caucus for your very important vote. We need to buy some time in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. Unite and Win!!!" Trump added.

Trump posted later in the day about Massie once again.

The president compared Massie to former House member Liz Cheney (R-WY), who served on the January 6 committee along with a number of Democrats, investigating Trump's activity as well as other events on that day.

The House GOP cannot afford more than two "no" votes from Republicans, and Massie has previously challenged party leadership in the House on multiple spending plans. The continuing resolution bill would keep the government funding until the end of the fiscal year, and the more fiscally conservative House Freedom Caucus has endorsed the plan.

Massie posted to X on Sunday, “Unless I get a lobotomy Monday that causes me to forget what I’ve witnessed the past 12 years, I’ll be a NO on the CR this week."

I like Massie but he needs to realize the game is very different now than it was 6 months ago. I was listening to Steve Bannon's War Room this morning and a guest was explaining that once the CR passes the Senate all of the Biden holdover garbage can be stripped from it and we'll be left with a clean bill. I don't understand why Mike Johnson can't make him understand this.
