President Trump met with new Polish President Karol Nawrocki in the Oval Office on Wednesday, during which he spoke about a "very big case" in the Supreme Court that could see America become "unbelievably rich again."

"We have a very, very big case in the Supreme Court. I can only say this, our country has a chance to be unbelievably rich again, but it can also be unbelievably poor again. If we don’t win that case, our country is going to suffer so greatly, so greatly, but I think we’re going to have a big victory," Trump said.

"Even if you look at the people that brought the case, they’re foreign-oriented. They’re foreign. Countries have taken advantage of the United States for so many years, and I started with China, he continued, noting that in his first term, "I took in hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs from China."

He suggested that a loss in the case could mean having to "unwind" trade deals made with countries around the world.

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled in a 7-4 decision on Friday that Trump does not possess the power to implement some of the tariffs he did. The ruling affects those implemented under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The court wrote that implementing tariffs is a "core Congressional power."

Speaking on the ruling on Tuesday, Trump said, "Some whack job put in a lawsuit, it went before a very liberal court and the liberal court ruled...they ruled 7-4, with one of the most liberal of them all voting in our favor because they're patriots," per Newsweek. "I give tremendous credit to that and now it's going to the Supreme Court."

Trump added, "We're going to be asking for early admittance, we're going tomorrow and we're going to ask for an expedited ruling because, you know...the stock market's down because of that."
