"The real Numbers are much worse than that and, if Comrade Kamala gets another four years, millions more Jobs will VANISH overnight, and Inflation will completely destroy our Country."

Following the release of revised job growth numbers, which were 818,000 less for the 12-month period ending with March 2024 than previously estimated by the Biden-Harris administration, 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized the administration and said that if "Comrade Kamala gets another four years," she would destroy the US economy–much as he says has been done over the Biden-Harris term.

"MASSIVE SCANDAL! The Harris-Biden Administration has been caught fraudulently manipulating Job Statistics to hide the true extent of the Economic Ruin they have inflicted upon America," Trump wrote. "New Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the Administration PADDED THE NUMBERS with an extra 818,000 Jobs that DO NOT EXIST, AND NEVER DID."

"The real Numbers are much worse than that and, if Comrade Kamala gets another four years, millions more Jobs will VANISH overnight, and Inflation will completely destroy our Country. YOUR LIFE SAVINGS WILL BE WIPED OUT. With a TRUMP VICTORY, we will once again have the Greatest Economy in History. MAGA2024!"

The total employment growth between March 2023 and March 2024 was initially estimated to be 2.9 million. Average monthly growth has dropped with the revision from 242,000 per month to around 174,000, or around 2.1 million jobs. The -0.5 percent revision is the largest since 2009.

The update was part of a regularly scheduled benchmark revision, in which the government uses more precise quarterly unemployment claim data to recalibrate its numbers, compared to monthly surveys of employers that are initially used.

The professional and business services sector saw the largest downward revision at 358,000. Leisure and hospitality was revised down by 150,000, manufacturing by 115,000, and trade, transportation, and utilities by 104,000.
