The Michigan rally comes after corporate media outlets claimed Trump was calling for post-election violence when he was actually speaking about the auto industry.
The rally comes on the heels corporate media outlets spread his comments taken out of context to fuel what has now been dubbed the "bloodbath hoax" and the hashtag #BidensBorderBloodbath trending on social media.
In a news release and message sent out to supporters, the former president's campaign stated, "Joe Biden's Violent Criminal Illegals are invading backyards and communities across Michigan resulting in death, destruction, and chaos."
During a previous campaign rally in Ohio, part of the rust belt known for its number of jobs in the auto industry, Trump spoke about the potential collapse of manufacturing jobs related to cars when he said that if Biden is elected there would be a "bloodbath" in the industry.
“If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — That’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country."
After the Ohio rally, accounts such as Libs of TikTok posted reports about crimes committed by illegal immigrants with the hashtag #BidensBorderBloodbath. The hashtag and trended on the platform.
One example posted was about Pablo Mendoza, an illegal immigrant who was arrested on suspicions of raping a "mentally incapacitated" 14-year-old girl in Alabama on Monday.
Left-wing outlets jumped at the comment without the context of the auto industry being the specified topic with Politico being one of the major news outlets to publish. In the first draft of Politico's report that is archived, the auto industry is not mentioned once.
Over the course of Biden’s presidency, he has reversed many Trump-era policies that kept the border secure such as remain in Mexico. During Trump’s presidency this would turn back immigrants seeking political asylum at the border to remain in the central American country while the US processed the asylum claim.
Immigration records have been shattered multiple times during the Bided administration and at least 7.3 million illegal immigrants have crossed into the US under the Biden administration.
