In a tweet sent last night, the Carleton Liberals Twitter account accused Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre of being a "white supremacist" because of the “clenched white fist” on his pro-oil hoodie.
Here's what Carleton Liberals tweeted on March 23 2021:
"Poilievre sure loves this hoodie. Do his loyalties lie in Carleton or Fort McMurray? Does he deny climate change? And what’s with the clenched white fist, a white supremacy symbol? Really? What does Poilievre stand for? Who's he fighting for? We’d like to know. Wouldn't you?"
In reality, Poilievre was wearing a pro-energy sweater that said "Oilsands Strong" on it. The tweet was responded to with scorn by critics of Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party. Even proof from the Oilsands Strong Twitter account shows it as a racially diverse group.
That tweet has since been deleted.

Now Trudeau & defeated Liberal candidate, Chris Rodgers must apologize for hurtful lie.
Poilievre himself made the announcement, tweeting on Friday evening: "Carleton Liberals forced to take down slanderous racial tweet targeting oil sands workers & insulting Fort Mac."
In the tweet, Poilievre calls for an apology from "defeated Liberal candidate" Chris Rodgers. Poilievre defeated Rodgers in both the 2015 and 2019 elections.
