Twitter stated in their SEC filing on Thursday that it plans to increase their daily active users to 315 million in 2023, which will lead to doubling their revenue.

This is the first time the company has bothered to set long-term goals for its numbers, and response to the news was favorable, as indicated by its stock prices going up today.

According to CNBC, the Twitter team has also announced the goal of being able to double their development velocity at the same time as they double their revenue. This means in layman's terms that Twitter over the next few years will see a rapid increase in things like new features and better user interfaces.

Twitter has had a roller-coaster year, so as not to say a rough one, surrounded by lots of debate and controversy over what critics call flat-out censorship. Famously, they permanently banned the account of former President Donald Trump, which led to further complications at the business and official levels.

They have even brushed on various occasions with government authorities because of said controversy, including the US Senate.
