Two female protesters were transferred to Harborview Medical Center after being hit by an oncoming vehicle while standing in the middle of the I-5 highway.

The 27-year-old driver of the vehicle can be swerving as they approach the small group of protesters standing in the middle of the interstate.

The driver's motive remains under investigation by Washington state police, but it didn't take long before Antifa doxed his identity and spread it on social media. It is also unclear if bond had been set yet for the driver.

The two females who were injured in the crash, ages 24 and 32, were transferred to Harborview Medical Center, according to the Seattle Police Department. They were participating in the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests to defund the police.

The younger victim was reportedly admitted with life-threatening injuries, and the other with serious injuries.

After the vehicle struck the two protesters, the driver pulled about half a mile down the interstate to wait for the police, but protesters eventually caught up with the car and started attacking the vehicle. The driver then pulled further down the interstate until the authorities arrived.

The driver was taken into custody, with the intent of being interviewed and likely charged with aggravated assault and a hit and run.

Washington State Police Captain Rod Mead told the press at a 4AM conference that police are currently investigating whether the driver intentionally drove through the protesters, but they are still trying to find out how he got onto the stretch of highway that was barricaded by makeshift blockades erected by protesters, who used vans and other vehicles to seal off sections of the highway.

Cpt. Mead said he hopes protesters will reconsider their desire to hold protests on the road, because police cannot guarantee their safety.

He stated that the protesters had shut down the interstate for 19 days in a row. He iterated the fact that the interstate is "simply not a safe place" for people to be walking, and he added that hoped protesters would stop what he referred to as "unlawful behavior."

"My hope is, as a result of this tragedy, protesters will reconsider their desire to be on the interstate because I cannot guarantee their safety, plain and simple."

The driver was later released and allegedly doxed by members of Antifa, who are now claiming that the driver is a "right wing extremist."
