Mohamed El-Abboud, 28, and Kusai Al-Jundi, 25, were convicted of killing Kam after allegedly plotting to steal her life savings and property in 2021.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the conviction was handed down after officers "found irrefutable evidence" linking El-Abboud, a delivery driver, and Al-Jundi, a kebab chef, to Kam's death.
"Over a number of months," Met Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie explained in a statement, "Al-Jundi attempted to plunder [Kam's] life savings and take ownership of her properties. El-Abboud assisted his friend in bringing the plot to a fatal conclusion; Louise was strangled and her body dumped unceremoniously in a rubbish bin."
He went on to note that the pair then made "heartless attempts" to deceive Kam's family and friends that she was not dead, rather that she had gone on vacation.
"Al-Jundi sent false text messages purporting to be from Louise to her family and friends claiming that she had left the country," Crown prosecurot Catherine Gould said, "and even had the audacity to claim that she had defrauded him at a time when he knew full well that she had been killed."
In reality, it was El-Abboud and Al-Jundi who had defrauded her. As the Met reports, the pair spent months in the lead-up to her killing convincing Kam that they were wealthy and that she should sign over two of her properties to them.
On July 26, Kam met with the pair in north London to "finalize agreements," and was instead murdered. Her black BMW was sold to an "unsuspecting buyer" the next day.
She was soon reported missing, and an investigation was launched. El-Abboud was arrested on July 28, and police captured Al-Jundi on the 29.
The criminals left a mountain of evidence behind, including DNA and CCTV footage. They are scheduled to be sentenced on February 1.
