UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones celebrated his victory at UFC 309 in New York on Saturday night by performing Donald Trump’s viral dance move and handing him the title belt.

After defeating Stipe Miocic in the third round to retain his title, Jones marked the win by performing the dance that Trump often does at his rallies. He then pointed at the president-elect sitting ringside and gave a thumbs up. Trump responded with applause and a smile.

After being awarded his heavyweight title belt, Jones handed it over to Trump and shook his hand. Trump, grinning widely, held up the belt as cameras captured the moment.

During his victory speech, Jones gave a heartfelt shout-out to Trump, telling the packed Madison Square Garden crowd, “I also wanna say a big, big thank you to President Donald Trump for being here tonight.” The champion then broke into the signature dance move again, drawing cheers and chants of “USA!” from the audience.

Trump, a known UFC fan, attended the event ringside alongside notable figures including UFC CEO Dana White, Elon Musk, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Kid Rock. Trump cabinet pick Tulsi Gabbard and Vivek Ramaswamy,
who has been tapped to head DOGE with Elon Musk, were also in attendance at the event.

Trump’s arrival at the venue was met with enthusiastic cheers. Upon entering, he greeted UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan following the pair’s viral interview on The Joe Rogan Experience. When Trump entered the venue, Rogan told viewers “If people at home could hear the sound in this room right now. It is so loud!”

“It’s always loud when he comes in, but now that he’s won [the election], now that he’s the president again, oh my God,” he added, as Trump’s appearance at UFC 309 comes shortly after his decisive election victory against Vice President Kamala Harris.
