“So the gal that served him said that he was quiet, kind of shy."
A Utah restaurant owner claims that Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, ate at his restaurant after Kirk was shot and killed in September.
The owner of a local steakhouse in Panguitch, located about three hours south of the Utah Valley University campus where the shooting occurred, said Robinson dined alone at the restaurant the night of the killing. According to the owner, Robinson sat at the counter, kept to himself, and ordered a medium-rare sirloin.
“So the gal that served him said that he was quiet, kind of shy,” the owner told Fox News. “Usually, if somebody sits at our counter, they like to talk. And he sat on the counter and she said he really didn’t want to talk, just wanted to eat and get out.”
The owner said staff recognized Robinson the following day after the FBI released photos of the suspect and contacted law enforcement.
“When they put a picture of the young man out there, I had a server say they were relatively certain that they had had that person in that night — late,” he said. “That was turned over to the FBI.”
The owner and two servers later spoke with the FBI about the alleged visit, but were unable to provide the cardholder name or security footage due to technical issues. The restaurant was only able to give investigators the last four digits of the credit card used to pay for the meal.
“That was the last I’ve heard of it,” the owner said. “The FBI followed through and did what they were supposed to, and that’s that. The staff that was involved, they were just trying to be good citizens, and they really don’t want to be hounded about it.”
Robinson is accused of shooting and killing Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, while Kirk was speaking as part of his American Comeback Tour. Robinson was arrested two days later and faces seven felony charges, including aggravated murder. If convicted, he could face the death penalty, with execution by firing squad remaining a legal option in Utah.
