Van Jones appeared on a CNN panel Thursday night and unwittingly admitted that Democrats expect Joe Biden to be terrible but they will support him unconditionally anyway.

“We were prepared for it to be a terrible speech. As long as he didn’t embarrass himself, we were going to come out here and praise him. You don’t have to make anything up tonight. Joe Biden did that thing tonight. Unbelievable,” said Jones during the discussion. In other words, Biden’s speech met his expectations, but even if it hadn’t, he would have praised him equally.

Jones is a regular contributor to CNN and used to serve under Barack Obama as an environmental advisor. He has been known to be quite the controversial figure at times, known for his unusual and sometimes shocking commentary. The last time he went viral, it was because he famously claimed on national media that all white people were racist.

One never knows what to expect from Jones, in fact. Back in 2017, he even publicly praised standing US president Donald Trump. This caused a lot of friction between him and his fellow prominent Democrats.

Also, in February of this year, Jones was at it once again with his famous controversy, saying that Biden’s campaign was a “dead man walking”. He later retracted this statement, as we can plainly see.
