On Sunday, the Wall of Honor Memorial in Eugene, Oregon, was vandalized with anarchist graffiti just one day before Memorial Day, KEZI reports.

The 12-foot granite wall memorial in Skinner Butte Park was spray painted with the words "I refuse to glorify imperialism," as well as the anarchist "A" symbol.

The memorial wall is inscribed with the names of 451 Lane County veterans who were killed in action from World War I through Operation Desert Storm.

The wall was dedicated on May 30, 1996 and again on September 11, 2010. The base of the memorial reads, "Many millions of men, women and children have perished in war. May there be an end to war."
