Video showed the girl being punched in the head by the two students as they held her hair and attempted to drag her to the ground.
A Washington middle school girl was brutally beaten by two other students in a locker room earlier in February over her alleged support of President Donald Trump and ICE. This comes after a social media post the girl’s boyfriend made saying that one of his life paths would be to become an ICE agent.
According to unDivided’s Brandi Krause, the 13-year-old girl’s boyfriend had "posted some TikToks, and in one of them he said, 'Plan A, marry a nice girl, have kids, get rich.' And then the other one, he said, 'Plan B, become an ICE agent.'"
The 13-year-old girl was approached by two other girls in a locker room at Lucille Umbarger Middle School in Burlington, Washington. The girl and her mother told Krause that the two students demanded "to know whether she supports Donald Trump and ICE. And when she tells them it’s none of her business, they violently assault her." Video showed the girl being punched in the head by the two students as they held her hair and attempted to drag her to the ground. The two attacking students were reportedly Hispanic, while the victim was white.
The video had reportedly been widely circulated throughout the school by students and staff, and it wasn’t until five days later that the principal contacted the girl’s mother.
The Burlington Chief of Police told unDivided, "we do have an active case on this incident, and are working through all the details. As an active case, and involving juveniles, there’s not a lot I can release at this time beyond that." The mom said that the principal told her the school is working on a safety plan, and that the police want the school to extend the suspension of the girls who attacked until a safety plan for the victim is in place.
