"I bagged my science teacher. We made out in a field."
The incidents, detailed in police records reviewed by Alesha Perkins of OSD Rescue, stem from allegations involving a former Timberline High School science teacher and a male student who was 16-years-old when concerns were first reported to authorities. According to police records, the original investigation began in May 2025 after a licensed therapist reported allegations that a student was involved in a romantic relationship with his teacher. The report was based on statements allegedly made by the student's mother.
Investigators collected text messages, school surveillance footage, and district email communications as part of the inquiry. Among the evidence reviewed was a text message allegedly sent by the student to a friend that stated, "I bagged my science teacher. We made out in a field."
Police also reviewed surveillance footage that reportedly showed the student and teacher together after school hours in areas near campus. Investigators additionally interviewed the student's sister, who alleged her brother told her he loved the teacher and that she had expressed similar feelings toward him.
Detectives obtained approximately 25 emails exchanged between the teacher and student between February and April 2025. According to police reports, investigators found no direct evidence within the emails of a sexual relationship.
However, some messages reflected a close personal relationship. In one email, the student wrote: "I think we might have one of these rare relationships. The similarities between us continue to shock me as I learn more about you. I am extremely fond of you. I feel so connected to you, in a way I’ve never felt before."
The teacher responded in part: "No worries, I understand, it is ok to feel that way. It is normal for people to feel more connected to another human after being vulnerable with them about what they are going through or questions they may have about their personal experiences in this crazy world..."
In another email cited in police records, the teacher recommended a song to the student, writing: "I have a special song for you. This song means a great deal to me, very personally meaningful."
When interviewed by detectives in May 2025, the student denied having a sexual relationship with the teacher and claimed he had exaggerated statements previously made to friends and family.
Police later attempted to interview the teacher. According to records, she retained legal counsel, and her attorney advised investigators that she would deny allegations of any intimate or sexual relationship with the student.
The investigation was ultimately referred to the Thurston County Prosecutor's Office. Detectives concluded that available evidence was insufficient to establish probable cause for criminal charges.
Before any disciplinary process concluded, North Thurston Public Schools informed investigators that the teacher had resigned rather than face termination proceedings. Months later, however, new allegations emerged.
According to OSD Rescue's reporting, a neighbor contacted investigators and reported observing the student frequently entering and leaving the teacher's residence at unusual hours. Surveillance footage reportedly showed the student exiting the residence and entering the teacher's vehicle.
During a March 2026 interview, the student again denied any romantic or sexual relationship with the former teacher, telling investigators she was a mentor and support figure in his life. He acknowledged frequently spending time at the home and staying overnight on occasion. A friend of the student later told investigators that the relationship had evolved beyond a student-teacher friendship and alleged that the teacher had provided the student with alcohol and marijuana.
The student's mother also told detectives she believed a romantic relationship existed and alleged that her son had stated it was "legal now that he was seventeen and she was no longer his teacher."
The investigation took another turn on April 7, 2026, when police responded to reports of a physical altercation at the teachers' residence. According to police records, the student arrived at a neighbor's home with visible injuries and asked someone to call 911. The former teacher told officers the student had been drinking, became aggressive, and entered the property without permission. She alleged a physical confrontation followed involving her husband.
Police records indicate that neighbor surveillance footage reportedly contradicted portions of that account by showing the student arriving at the residence with the teacher. During the investigation into the altercation, the student changed his previous statements and alleged that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with the former teacher beginning in the summer of 2025. According to police records, he provided investigators with details regarding the alleged relationship while also stating that he did not believe the teacher had committed a crime.
The former teacher acknowledged maintaining contact with the student after her resignation and told investigators that he occasionally visited the home because she was attempting to help him through personal difficulties. Court records cited by OSD Rescue show that both teachers later sought protection orders against the student following the altercation. However, both requests were effectively abandoned when the petitioners failed to appear for scheduled hearings.
Police records also indicate the husband declined to pursue criminal charges stemming from the incident.
The former Timberline teacher resigned from her position in June 2025. Her husband, who teaches at North Thurston High School, was reportedly placed on paid administrative leave following the April 2026 incident.
According to records reviewed by Alesha Perkins and OSD Rescue, investigative reports from June 2025, March 2026, and April 2026 were referred to the Thurston County Prosecutor's Office. Police also requested a review by the Lacey City Attorney regarding assault allegations connected to the April 2026 altercation.
As of publication, neither the Thurston County Prosecutor's Office nor the Lacey City Attorney's Office has publicly announced criminal charges related to the allegations described in the investigations.
