WATCH: Anderson Cooper, CNN security team barged through Newsmax's NYE live shot, pushing people out of the way

At one point in the evening, Andy Cohen called Cooper a "nepo baby," referring to nepotism the host likely benefitted from as Anderson is a scion of the wealthy American Vanderbilt family.

CNN managed to ring in the 2023 New Year with a night of programming that saw Anderson Cooper and his security physically pummel another news network, profanity-laden diatribes, fits about not drinking, and despite going dry this year they managed to literally botch the Central Standard Time stroke of midnight by cutting to Don Lemon dancing to the rap "Back that A** Up."

CNN's sole job on New Year's Eve was to cover the moment the eve becomes New Year's Day, yet managed to cut to Don Lemon in New Orleans, during the Central Standard Time portion of the celebration, vaguely dancing by himself in a moment that caused one Twitter user to say that the network did not acknowledge "the stroke of midnight in any way."

Earlier in the night, around 8:30 pm co-hosts Cooper and Andy Cohen interviewed performer and mask forever enthusiast Patti LuPone, who said "F*ck" Ticketmaster during the broadcast when asked about the company's debacle with Tayler Swift tickets in 2022.

As the New York Post reported, LuPone laid into a theater-goer during a show's talkback and said they either needed to put their mask on or "get the f*ck out." She gave the directive while maskless.

Later, around 11:12 pm comedian Kevin Hart said it was "absolute bullsh*t" that CNN wasn't allowing its hosts to drink this year. Th"is is absolute bullsh*t. You’ve been hoodwinked," Hart said. "That’s perfect TV. I’m pissed off about it. I can’t believe they pulled this sh*t on you. Yes, I said sh*t."

Last year, a drunk Cohen went on a rant about then NYC mayor Bill DeBlasio's job performance.

Eventually, Cohen both drank and cursed in the lead-up to 2023 when actor Brian Cox gave him some booze.

Cohen did throw a fit at one point screaming that he needed Tequila.

At one point in the evening, Cohen called Cooper a "nepo baby," referring to nepotism the host likely benefitted from as Anderson is a scion of the wealthy American Vanderbilt family. As Vulture reported, the comment caused some friction between Cohen and Cooper.

As the evening wrapped, after the ball dropped, Cooper made a hard exit with his security team.

In one clip posted by Jack Posobiec, the hosts over at Newsmax were rolled over by Cooper and his entourage.
