Barstool founder Dave Portnoy slammed American politicians regarding the COVID lockdowns, on Friday. Speaking of the most recent restrictions placed in New York City by Governor Cuomo Portnoy said, "politicians are taking away the right to earn a living. It's that simple and it is insanity."

Portnoy praised bars and restaurants for being creative, and paying to install plexiglass and other materials that assist the effort to stop the spread. He nonetheless is enraged that despite small businesses making their best effort, politicians are shutting them down. "The bar and restaurants have been squeezed and squeezed," he said.
Portnoy also suggests that individual responsibility should be the priority. "let us protect ourselves, you're not protecting a family you just destroyed."
Portnoy concluded his Twitter rant with the following. "This country is never going to be the same. Walk through New York, look at the restaurants, boards after boards, after boards. Out of business and for rent signs. This is because of how the government has handled it."
