While making his way through the crowd following his State of the Union address, Joe Biden was caught on hot mic talking about Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The president said he and the leader of the Jewish state were going to have a "come to Jesus meeting" before one of his aides reminded him that he was being recorded.

Near the end of the evening, Democratic Colorado Senator Michael Bennett approached Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Bennett called on Biden and Blinken to "keep pushing" on humanitarian aid to Gaza, explaining that he'd paid a visit to Israel and Jordan last weekend.

"I told Bibi– don't repeat this," Biden said, leaning in closer. "I said, you and I are going to have a 'come to Jesus' meeting."

At that point, one of his aides rushed over and reminded the president that he was being recorded.

"I'm on a hot mic here. Good," he said, before ending the conversation with Bennett.

According to Merriam-Webster, a "come to Jesus" moment is "a moment of sudden realization, comprehension, or recognition that often precipitates major change” and the moment may be indicative of Biden pressuring Israel in the ongoing war with Hamas. This is despite hostages still being held by the terrorist organization.

Ahead of the address, Biden has faced pressure to shift on policy towards Israel and to push for a ceasefire by his left-wing base. Protesters, even during and before the Thursday address, attempted to block the president’s motorcade from reaching the Capitol.

This was also not the only time Biden was caught on hot mic following his official speech.

Earlier, an elderly man told Biden, "Nobody's gonna talk about cognitive impairment now!"

"I kinda wish sometimes I was cognitively impaired," the president replied, adding something about an "excuse" that was unintelligible through the noise of the crowd.

During his speech, Biden reiterated his support for Israel, and announced that the United States would be leading a project to help "establish a temporary pier in the Mediterranean on the coast of Gaza that can receive large shipments carrying food, water, medicine, and temporary shelter."
