Video has emerged of a man being beaten up by agitators downtown Portland. In what appears to be full daylight, a crowd of men and women approach another man and pummel him.

This was near the Mark O' Hatfield federal courthouse, which has been the site of ongoing tension, violence, and unrest.

While some of those in the crowd seem to caution to let the man go, a shirtless, tattooed man continues to beat the victim.

Reports from Portland are that the local police have been told to away from the area and to not intervene in incidents such as this one.

Portland has been a hot bed of violent protests that have raged for over two months. Both the pandemic and the protests have taken a toll on the city, and mixed guidance from city and state officials has only confounded matters.

The beating in the video may have had to do with the furtherance of intense verbal clashes that had just taken place between BLM protestors and other protestors who were carrying American flags.

It is unclear whether the victim of the beating was one of the flag holders, however, and there is no evidence of other possible motives for the attack.
