Don Lemon went on a rant on his show on CNN on Wednesday, smashing his desk with his fist as he called his fellow Democrats "weak."
The rant by Lemon, who supports social media censorship, took place during the handoff of the show between Lemon and Chris Cuomo, whose program is right after Lemon's.
Lemon said that, in his opinion, people are expecting others to do what should be their own job of "saving this damn country."
"I'm not just gonna sit back and expect the news media to do it for me, because it's not our job to sell the narrative."
"It's our job to discuss what you are doing, and yes, part of what's in it, but it's not our job to sell your agenda for you. They are not selling their agenda."
Cuomo watches impassively and doesn't say a word through the whole video.
"And the only reason that I'm so enthusiastic about this is because our democracy is on the the line. I don't want America to lose its democracy. I don't want America to be a country of minority rule."
"And I don't want America to be a place where black and brown people like me, whose ancestors fought and died for the right to vote, are restricted from going to the voting booth. That is the most un-American thing to do."
Lemon had previously stated on his show that he thinks that America as a whole doesn't see black people as "fully human."
"So, I have this platform that I have now, and I am speaking very passionately about it."
Here the incessant banging on the desk started:
"Democrats, get your butts in gear and get passionate about saving this damn country. You're not doing it. You're weak. You are weak. You are weak. That's it, good night. Thank you and good night."
