"Joe Biden has refused to come to the border to see the chaos he has created by his open-border policies," Abbott said.

Texas GOP Governor Greg Abbott on Thursday laid out his state's new plan to deal with the border crisis by sending migrants to Washington, DC so that they don't stay in southern Texas.

The CDC has announced previously on Friday that provisions to quickly deport migrants, Title 42, will come to an abrupt end on May 23, and an unprecedented migrant surge is expect to take place at that time.

"Joe Biden has refused to come to the border to see the chaos he has created by his open-border policies," Abbott said

"So, we're going to take the border to him by transporting the people that he is dropping off in this local communities in the state of Texas, and sending them to Washington [DC] by plane or by bus."

"What's happening is: there is an increased number of people coming across the border [that] the federal government are processing and then letting loose."

Abbott also then made it clear that he doesn't think his plan is overly controversial or radical:

"What's been happening so far is that these people will be getting on buses and going to San Antonio or Houston or other places like that. So, I just think they need longer bus rides."
