In the video, posted on Friday, Hunt can be seen dancing to background music with her chest barely covered by an open construction vest, exposing denim shorts, thigh-high socks, and a hard hat.
In the video, Hunt can be seen dancing with her chest barely covered by an open construction vest, cut-out denim shorts, thigh-high socks, and a hard hat similar to the one worn by Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg during his visit to East Palestine. She posted the video to her official campaign Twitter account with the caption, "Thanks for showing up this week, @SecretaryPete."
Hunt mouted lyrics from the Ylvis song "You're F*cked"
The video came the day after Buttigieg finally visited East Palestine, Ohio, several weeks after the Norfolk Southern derailment left the local air and waterways contaminated with dangerous chemicals. Turning Point USA contributor Savanah Hernandez attempted to ask the DOT leader why he took so long to respond to the emergency, but she was ignored by him and told by his press secretary that she was too "aggressive" for trying to ask questions on camera.
During his brief appearance in Ohio, Buttigieg donned a similar vest and hard hat to the ones that Hunt wore in her video.
Hunt posted another image of herself in the revealing getup and quipped in another post, "Who wore it better?"
One Ohio resident responded to her post, "Do you have any idea what it takes to work in construction? Also, your idea of a good post on Twitter where you are campaigning to be the controller for Philadelphia is to wear a hardhat and safety vest without anything underneath?"
According to her campaign website, "Alexandra worked her way through college as a stripper" before becoming a public health activist and aspiring politician.
On Thursday, Hunt received more backlash when she painted doctors who are against Covid lockdowns and medical mandates based on their own research as "biased."
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, one of the witnesses called before the House select committee on Covid whom Hunt was condemning, replied, "This Philadelphia politician apparently thinks attacking scientists who have worked for decades in prominent academic institutions in public health is pro-public health. With politicians like these, no wonder public health in the US is so messed up."
Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine at Stanford University, was heavily criticized and censored in the media for his promotion of building natural herd immunity instead of locking people down for years to combat Covid.
Despite his extensive medical credentials, Hunt quote-tweeted Bhattacharya with "This man is the COVID-19 equivalent to a flat earth conspiracy theorist, yet gets upset if anyone points out his bias and errors."
In another recent controversial tweet, Hunt argued that "OnlyFans is good for your overall sexual health," citing a research paper that claimed to observe "improvements in relationships; self-improvement/expansion; skill acquisition; connecting with others through OnlyFans; and value-related learning outcomes," in subscribers of the pornographic site.
The methodology used in the study was "a diverse sample of 425 OnlyFans users" who participated in the online survey.
"A customer survey with no comparison group," wrote one Twitter user in reply to Hunt's post. "Classic public health activist move, find something that confirms your bias and display complete ignorance of how to evaluate evidence."
Despite her promotion of explicit content, comedy shows apparently go too far for Hunt.
Earlier this week, Hunt also condemned Dave Chappelle for allegedly being "transphobic," shaming his jokes about the LGBT community.
"Dave Chappelle? Now why would a place like Philly want to platform someone like Dave Chappelle," she wrote in response to an announcement of his upcoming June appearance in Philadelphia.
"He's transphobic. People are dying from transphobia," she wrote in a follow-up.
In yet another controversial take, Hunt argued that people should have "a right to sex," saying that individuals "should be able to have sex when they feel they want to, and we need to develop services that meet people's needs without attaching the baggage of shame or criminalization."
"NO. As a sexworker I am totally against this idea," one Twitter user replied. "There is no right to sex with another human being, and that's the way it should be. Everything else will lead to more human trafficking. Consent is key in our profession and when it comes to sex in general."
In her campaign launch video, posted in January, Hunt argued that Philadelphia needs "affordable housing, community hospitals, a public bank, and to reduce violence through evidence-based public health approaches."
Previously, she ran an unsuccessful campaign for US House Pennsylvania District 3 in 2022, losing in the Democratic primary to Rep. Dwight Evans.
