Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed on Friday that the US is "outspoken on human rights", but in the same breath said that the US will take no stand against China on the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
This despite the Olympics being dubbed the "Genocide Olympics" by many outlets, including The New York Times.
EWTN's Own Jensen asked Psaki:
"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for a 'diplomatic boycott' of the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Does President Biden agree with that urging?"
"Our position hasn't changed," responded Psaki.
"Human rights... and as much as this administration forcefully defends human rights?" Psaki was asked.
"We are quite outspoken on human rights, the values of the United States in our conversations with the Chinese government and leaders, and any country where we have concerns, as was clear in the readout from the President's call with President Xi, and has been clear in every engagement we've had with the Chinese leaders, but our position on the Olympics has not changed."
China has been under fire worldwide recently for various reasons, ranging from new and draconian anti-free speech laws in Hong Kong to forced labor and genocide in the country's northwestern Xinjiang region, where there is a Turkic Muslim majority.
