Rapper Nicki Minaj became one of the most talked-about guests at a White House luncheon celebrating the launch of President Donald Trump’s savings initiative for children, niclnamed Trump Accounts. Trump singled out Minaj with a highly public display of praise.

During the event at the White House, Trump asked Minaj to stand before the crowd and praised the rapper as “so respected and so hot,” while also calling her a “great friend” of what he described as “common sense.” The remarks quickly spread online, drawning a range of reactions.

Minaj attended the luncheon as a supporter of Trump’s new savings program dubbed "Trump Accounts,"which is designed to provide investment accounts for eligible children. The initiative has been promoted by the administration as a way to encourage early financial planning and create opportunities for future generations.

The rapper’s appearance marked another high-profile moment in her increasingly visible relationship with conservative politics. Once primarily known for her record-breaking career in hip-hop, Minaj has in recent years become a polarizing figure after publicly weighing in on political and cultural debates and expressing support for several Trump-backed initiatives.

After the luncheon, Minaj shared photos and videos from her White House visit, referring to herself as “#WhiteHouseBarbie” while celebrating the appearance with her supporters.

Minaj’s appearance at the White House was not her first public interaction with President Trump or his supporters. In recent years, the rapper has drawn attention for comments that aligned her with conservative viewpoints and challenged some mainstream political narratives. In 2021, she faced widespread backlash after questioning COVID-19 vaccine mandates and sharing experiences her family members had with vaccine and its side effects, per ABC7.

Following her comments, she was surprised to find how violently she was targeted with insults and threats for simply speaking her mind. She later became more vocal on issues involving free speech, government policies, and cultural debates, gaining support from many conservatives who praised her willingness to challenge overarching opinions in circles less friendly to conservative ideas.

For the Trump administration, Minaj’s appearance provided additional visibility for the Trump Accounts rollout and access to a new dedicated groups of fans which Minaj as affectionally named “Barbz.”
