Singer Maren Morris proclaimed that she is ditching Country music due to the problems the “Trump years” have apparently brought upon the genre.

"After the Trump years, people's biases were on full display," Morris said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. "It just revealed who people really were and that they were proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic."

Morris is well-known for pushing leftist agendas. It was just last year when she infamously launched vicious insults against the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, Brittany, because she had dared to oppose the mutilation of children. Members of the media jumped to Morris' defense; Billboard framed the situation as Brittany being 'called out' for her remarks, which were disingenuously portrayed as a "transphobic joke."

In Morris' eyes, misogyny, racism, homophobia, and transphobia are now all being celebrated, and are "weirdly dovetailing with this hyper-masculine branch of country music."

"It just revealed who people really were and that they were proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic."

Morris told the LA Times, "I call it butt rock."

"People are streaming these songs out of spite," Morris said when explaining her perspective. "It’s not out of true joy or love of the music. It's to own the libs. And that's so not what music is intended for. Music is supposed to be the voice of the oppressed — the actual oppressed. And now it's being used as this really toxic weapon in culture wars."

Morris noted during the interview that she has "always been an asker of questions and a status quo challenger" by virtue of simply being a woman.

Upon being asked by the LA Times if her departure from country music means "the libs have been owned," Morris said that people are free to think that. She later noted that her exit from the genre is about "disarming" herself from "trauma."

"I can't bail water out of this sinking ship anymore. It's so futile. I choose happiness."
