UPDATE: The New York Police Department confirmed on Monday that investigators located the two individuals seen on surveillance video and are certain that no crime has been committed. The two individuals knew each other but NYPD did not specify their relationship, according to NY Post.
The New York Police Department is investigating a shocking kidnapping incident that occurred on Friday morning in Brooklyn, according to the New York Post.
According to law enforcement, a male suspect approached the female victim around 1:45 am as she was walking along Avenue W and Stillwell Avenue. He snatched her off of the street and carried her into a Toyota minivan and the suspect fled north on Stillwell.
The suspect has been described by investigators as a 5-foot-10, 175 pound male in his 30's, who was dressed in a black shirt, dark pants, and black sneakers. The victim has been described as a 5-foot-5, 120 pound female, with long hair in her 20's. She was wearing a striped shirt, blue skirt, and white sneakers, according to NY Post.
Authorities have not yet located the suspect, and do not know the women's identity. In fact, police sources told the New York Post that investigators are stumped at trying to find the identities of the two people in the surveillance video.
"She didn't appear to be struggling like you would if it was a stranger," the source told the Post.
A bystander witnessed the incident and reported the crime to the 60th precinct.
Police are offering a $3,500 reward for information regarding this case.
