Off-duty York Regional Police officer dies in motorcycle accident

Last Friday, 31-year York Regional Police officer veteran Craig Heatley died in a motorcycle accident.

Last Friday, 31-year York Regional Police officer veteran Craig Heatley died in a motorcycle accident. He was off-duty in Southern Ontario at the time of the crash.

Heatley was involved in the motorcycle accident with his wife. While Heatley died from his injuries, his wife remains in stable condition. The case of the motorcycle accident is still unknown, reports CP24.

"This is a devastating and unexpected loss for all of Craig’s family, friends and platoon mates," Heatley's colleague Chief Jim MacSween said. "Craig was a well-respected 31-year York Regional Police veteran, who worked in Criminal Investigations, Academics, Auto Recovery and most recently in #4 District Uniform Patrol,” MacSween tweeted.
