Police are reportedly investigating the attack.
Other students recorded the attack on their cell phones. Video showed the attacker going up to the 11-year-old girl then punching her repeatedly, even after she fell to the ground. Other students can be seen walking by and not intervening.
The attacker was consequently suspended from school, but has since returned, according to the Daily Mail. Meanwhile, the victim has been provided with a staff "bodyguard" to escort her through school.
"Imagine knowing you could not like someone, harass them, plot an attack and film it and spread the evidence," said the victim's father.
"Then your victim has to leave and you get to go on terrorizing other kids," he said. "If that keeps going, it will be more a juvenile detention center than a G&T school."
Mark Twain Intermediate School enjoys high rankings; the Coney Island institution reports a 99 percent pass rate in math, English, social studies and science classes. It's part of an elite tier of schools in the New York City public school system and placement at the school is coveted by parents and students alike.
GRafitti in the school's bathrooms referred to the victim as a "dirty a** whore" and "fat as f*ck." Around the same time, a TikTok page entitled "Mark Twain Gossip" laid blame of the victim for students getting suspended in addition to calling her a "b*tch" and "dumbass," per the Daily Mail.
Police are reportedly investigating the attack after videos on TikTok of the video contained captions such as, "THE SMACK WAS MAD LOUD," and "my sister f*cked her up."
Another child at the school last year experienced bullying that was so vicious her mother ultimately pulled her out entirely, per the Daily Mail.
"I didn't even recognize her anymore," the mother told The New York Post.
"There are no consequences for the bullies."
