Of the 118 candidates so far across governor, US House, and US Senate races Trump has endorsed, all of them have won their primaries.
Amid the 2026 election season, Trump has had a perfect record in regard to candidates he has endorsed winning their primary elections. Among the latest of candidates to win their primary was Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who defeated incumbent John Cornyn in Tuesday night’s runoff election.
Tracking conducted by Fox News has found that of the 118 candidates so far across governor, US House, and US Senate races Trump has endorsed, all of them have won their primaries.
In addition to Paxton’s victory, Trump-backed candidate Ed Gallrein defeated incumbent Rep Thomas Massie in Kentucky’s GOP primary. Other primary victories include Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor of Ohio, Bruce Blakeman for Governor of New York, Congresswoman Victoria Spartz, Republican challenger Derek Merrin for US House, and Brandon Herrera in Texas.
Trump has also seen other wins across the country. Trump’s chosen candidate in Louisiana’s GOP Senate primary, Julia Letlow, has moved ahead to a runoff election against state Treasurer John Fleming, knocking out incumbent Bill Cassidy. In Georgia, endorsed candidate Clayton Fuller won against Democrat Shawn Harris in the special election to fill Marjorie Taylor Greene’s vacant seat.
The wins come amidst a Trump-backed push in Republican-led states across the country to redistrict. Among those who have passed GOP-favoring redistricting efforts are Texas, Tennessee, and Florida.
Trump wrote following Paxton’s Tuesday night victory, "Congratulations to Ken Paxton on such a tremendous win, and to John Cornyn for having run a strong and powerful race but, more importantly, having had a truly great career. John will remain my friend for a long time to come, as we both watch Ken become a fantastic, common sense Senator, one who is respected by all."
He continued regarding Paxton's opponent, Democrat James Talarico, "His opponent, Alfred E. Neuman, may be the worst TEXAS candidate I have ever seen. A strong Open Borders advocate, he is WEAK ON CRIME, believes there are 6 genders, is insulting to Jesus Christ, will never support the Military, was a big Mask Wearer until recently, and is a Vegan who dislikes meat, not exactly a good way to be if you’re wanting to win an Election in Texas. Jasmine Crockett, a very low IQ individual, who is no relation to the legendary frontiersman, Davy Crockett, would have been a far better choice for the Dumocrats. I will do some nice, big, beautiful rallies for Ken."
