Texas police arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection to the Juneteenth shooting in Round Rock that killed two women and injured 14 others, including children on Saturday. Additional suspects are still on the loose. Ricky Thompson III, of Manor, Texas was taken into custody around 7:30 am Thursday and has been charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks.

Chief Banks said during a press conference that Thompson was not the only shooter and authorities are looking to identify and capture additional suspects. He noted that Thompson has not been charged with murder but the charges may increase as the investigation progresses.

The two victims killed in the shooting have been identified as Lyndsey Vicknair, 33, and Ara Duke, 52. Both of them are mothers from the Round Rock area, police said. Fourteen other people suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to local hospitals.

"We have a lot of evidence, a lot of casework to continue to do to make sure that we are getting the justice for these families that they deserve," said Banks. "We are going to continue to work hard to make sure that we get a resolve, this case, for the families, the victims and this community."

The incident occurred around 10:50 pm near the vendor section at the Juneteenth festival at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock when an altercation between two groups broke out. The victims were not part of the altercation, according to Chief Banks.

Thompson is a student at Manor Independent School District, per a statement from the district's superintendent.

Police requested that if anyone has video footage or information about this incident to notify the Round Rock Police Department at (512) 218-5500.
