U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released November's numbers of migrant encounters along the southern border, revealing that the month saw the highest amount of non-citizens stopped at the border than in previous Novembers.

On Friday, CBP announced 233,740 migrant encounters at the border for the month of November. Out of the migrants involved, 16 percent had at least one prior encounter within the previous year. 67 percent, or 157,202 of the migrants encountered were single adults.

Last November, only 174,845 migrants were stopped by CBP, said Fox News border reporter Bill Melugin.

"A reminder, these numbers do not include known gotaways," Melugin added. "CBP sources tell us there were at least 73,000 known gotaways in the month of November alone. These are people who are detected or seen, but there is no manpower to get to them for capturer."

The numbers aren't expected to slow down this month, with El Paso, TX currently being in a state of emergency after more than 2,500 migrants crossed into the border town in just 24 hours earlier in December, with more to come due to the uncertainty surrounding Title 42.

The Trump-era policy allowing immigration officials to turn away migrants due to health concerns was set to expire on Wednesday, but the Supreme Court put a hold on that action, effectively extending Title 42. A massive immigrant surge is still stalled at the border.
