Local and federal law enforcement agencies from Clackamas County, Oregon, and the FBI worked together to catch sexual predators targeting children online.
Five men were arrested following the conclusion of a joint sting operation Wednesday when officers posed as minors online, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and the Milwaukie Police Department. Authorities said the accused men solicited the undercover officers for sexual acts.
Trevor Lariza, Deven Simmons, Mario Tomaino, Noel Moehnke, and Angel Diaz-Rios were arrested and charged with luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree, according to local outlet KOIN 6.
In a similar operation in the state of Indiana, eight men were nabbed in a sting on a child solicitation ring back in April. A widespread Ohio human trafficking sting ended with record-breaking 161 arrests in October, considered one of the biggest human trafficking stings in the state's history.
